Sharons Trust has a wonderful tradition of raising funds by selling Christmas cards which have always featured the work of Mary Newcombe.

This year the work is entitled ' A hedge in November'. The price remains at 80p per card ( just as it was when the Trust was founded in 1987.)

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we have been able to carry on with our work which is simply to try and take some of the stress out of a cancer diagnosis. More and more requests come through for individuals and families who cannot make ends meet when the patient or carer has to stop work.

It's a shocking side effect of the illness which the state is unable to fully address.

We work closely with the Royal Marsden PCT's and hospices to provide
help for such diverse requests as weddings, funerals, household goods, family outings

and direct financial support. We are still closely linked with the teenage cancer unit at university college hospital and provide special visits to football matches,

theatres and theme parks as well as fulfilling requests for such things as bicycles, driving lessons, computers and short holidays.

We also continue to support Macmillan nurses.

We do need to spread the word of the trust so if you would like more information or have some fund raising ideas pleas contact me on 020
7703 6619.

In the meantime please order your cards by downloading the Order Form

We are of course delighted just to receive donations. These cheques should be made out the The Sharon Spratt Trust and sent to me at 83
Talfourd Road, London SE15 5NN

Thank you for your support and on behalf of the Trustees may I wish you a very Happy Christmas, a healthy and peaceful NewYear.

Paintings by Mary Newcomb and her daughter Tessa were auctioned by Dendy Easton, a director of Sothebys and colleague of Sharons', and currently an Antique Roadshow expert. £20,000.00 was raised at the event.

Sharon's Cancer Trust unites Newcastle's Alan Smith with 14 year old leukaemia patient at University College Hospital in London .

Newcastle captain Alan Smith was in London to play Arsenal.

Invited by Mrs. Fix It of the Sharon's Trust cancer charity, Alan spent the afternoon with a young girl who has been battling with leukaemia for the past 7 years.

Having cancer can result in financial hardship but this great young lad was able to enjoy his special birthday with a little help from us.

We received a request from a fan of Mystery Jets to go to one of their concerts. He couldn't make it - so they came to him. In this case the band gave their day and expenses without asking a penny. Fantastic guys with XXXXX factor. See what they're up to now at www.mysteryjets.com

Many dreams come true with visits to Disney World, Musicals, and Sporting events. Shopping days, Driving treats and even Driving lessons can make a huge difference to someone's life. In addition, lots of individuals have been provided with travel insurance, stairlifts, childcare, specialist furniture, birthday parties, cleaning and gardening assistance, computers and financial support. Our donations and the support of many companies make all these things possible.

A small selection of the many thank you letters we get.
